Students from Father John V. Doyle School donated 200 painted pumpkins to Riverview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Coventry, RI, brightening residents’ Halloween. The collaboration provided not only decorative pumpkins but also meaningful interaction, as residents enjoyed seeing and engaging with the children. The school chose painting over carving for safety, and now the miniature pumpkins, featuring smiley faces and glitter, adorn residents’ rooms. Riverview’s Life Enrichment Director, Kerri Field, emphasized the joy these visits bring to isolated residents, hinting at future plans for further interactions, such as field trips or storytime.
